Adjustable beds and hospital beds share one common feature. They both allow the head and foot section of the bed to be adjusted. But that is where the similarity ends.
Homecare Hospital Bed Features
Homecare Hospital beds are designed for people with medical issues and their caregivers. In addition to adjusting the head and foot of the bed, a hospital bed can be raised toward the ceiling and lowered close to the floor (15" - 23" H). This function helps save the backs of caregivers and helps to prevent the patient from injuries if they fall out of bed.
Homecare Hospital beds have wheels that allow them to be moved easily and quickly and have an option of removable half or full length side rails. The bed includes a wired hand control. Homecare Hospital bed mattresses are generally six inches of foam or innerspring covered with a vinyl to allow for scrubbing and disinfecting. Most Homecare hospital beds have brown laminate head and footboards.
Homecare hospital beds have bulky frames and are only available in twin sizes (36" W x 88" L), which do not allow the patient to sleep with their partner. The beds come in two power options; Semi-electric (height of bed adjustable by hand crank) and an All-electric bed.
